Membership
All persons applying for membership in the SFVAC are accepted as either Professional or Non-Professional artist-members. Patron members are accepted as members who do not paint or do not wish to exhibit, but have an active interest in art. Annual dues are $40 plus a one-time new member fee of $5.00. (Dues are pro-rated after the June break.)
Download a Membership Application (PDF). Note: Please also include your e-mail address so we can more easily keep you informed of club events like workshops and paint-outs. Your address will not be shared.
Newsletter
Members receive our monthly newsletter, The Paint Rag, with details of upcoming meetings and exhibitions, plus member news and messages from our sponsors. (Samples of the Paint Rag can be downloaded as PDFs from our Newsletter page.)
Meetings
We meet on the first Tuesday evening of each month, excluding July and August. Social time is from 6:30 to 7:00pm, followed by an exciting and informative demonstration by a reputable artist. See our Next Meeting page for details and location. We ask a per meeting donation of $5 for members and $6 for non-members.
Members participate in mini exhibits at monthly meetings, so don't forget to bring along your latest masterpiece! Ribbons are awarded by the guest artist/demonstrator.
Exhibitions
SFVAC sponsors two major exhibits each year with ribbon and cash awards. In addition, the club has on-going exhibits at various venues to allow for the sale of members’ artwork – see Art Around Town for current venues. (Note that standing rules provide that new members wishing to exhibit in shows must attend at least one meeting prior to a major exhibition if they wish to participate.)
Free Link to Member Web Sites
SFVAC members with their own web sites receive a complimentary link from the Members Online page (link must be to an art related site). News about your artistic endeavors and successes may also be posted on our Member News page.
