John Paul ThorntonPresentation by John Paul Thornton

John Paul Thornton's expressive portraits depicting the faces of America's missing children, his emotional nudes and sensual figure-paintings are all linked in their commitment to define the warmth and vitality of the human spirit.

As a representational figurative painter, beyond technique and a singular style, Thornton paints in a multitude of "languages" - each meaningful to the scope of his voice.

JPT1John Paul attended Otis Parson’s School of Design and California State University at Northridge, where he earned his B.A. in 1990. He received a diverse understanding of painting techniques and approaches while studying with two distinct voices in American art, digital artist Saul Bernstein and expressionist Hans Burkhardt, Extensive travels painting throughout Europe and Asia have added dimension to his experience and art education.
