Karen Werner

Realistic Oil Painting – Loose and Poetic

Oil Painting Demonstration
At the San Fernando Valley Art Club Meeting
Tuesday April 3, 2018 – 6:30 to 9:00 p.m.

Karen Werner is a Southern California based artist who began her artistic journey when she was a young girl. She continued her art journey at California State University, Fullerton and went on to a Masters in Education at Claremont Graduate University. She paints every day and believes that “practice is the key to steady growth as an artist.” She has also studied with many well known artists such as Milford Zornes, Chris Van Winkle, Carol Marine and Greg La Rock. She is the recipient of many awards.

Karen works in oil and watercolor and aims to paint “realistically, but in a loose poetic way.” She paints a wide range of subjects, and also teaches a watercolor class and oil painting workshops in her home studio.

Please join us for this informative and enjoyable evening.

March Mini-Art Show Winner

Dues Reminder

If you haven’t renewed yet for 2018, please mail your check for $40.00 to SFVAC, P.O. Box 16404, Encino, CA 91416 or bring it to the next meeting.

Thank You, Milton Decker!

Milton Decker gave an enjoyable and thorough demonstration in his presentation of “Perspective in Action” at our March 6th meeting. He covered both one and two point perspectives and provided everyone with paper, pencils and a straight edge so that we could draw using the principles he explained.  We ended up with a basic drawing for a cityscape in two-point perspective.
